December 16
Today is the Challenge Semester Final! Students were asked to pick who they felt was the greatest leader we had studied so far with historical evidence from the book. I was amazed how well the students were able articulate their choice with evidence they have learned.
December 12
Today we are introducing our students to the second major project in challenge world history. National History Day! Students are able to pick a topic and then choose what format they will present their projects. See NHD.org for the details and instructions for the project.
December 8
Today my challenge students will be in the library all day doing research for their Model UN project.
November 21st
Today is the first step in our Model UN project. This is a huge project and is one of the best ways that we feel we can prepare our students for high school. It asks the students to do research and to use creative thinking to solve real world problems. Today we are going to a half day field trip to the Chase for the students to get their first real look at the project and how it works.

Tuesday November 7th
Students learned about the Chinese writing today. We looked at the 12 basic steps of creating Chinese Characters and then practiced writing our own characters.
